The Bitterweed wildflower is very common in North East Texas. It blooms from April through December. It is not usually grazed by cattle, but if they do, their milk has a very bitter taste. Bees that pollinate this flower also make a very bitter and distasteful honey.

To most this wildflower is just a troublesome weed, but if you click on the flower, you will see that it's blooms are really very pretty.

"And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
