UMW is asking Mims Chapel ladies to think about a meeting held at night for UMW. They would still have usual meetings on 2nd Tuesday, but then have a night meeting that works with the regular UMW. It would be great for those who work and can't attend during the day.

(***no offense ladies about the picture, I Googled "church ladies" and this is what popped up 1st ---I love it!!!!) These ladies can't be from Mims Chapel anyway, they are all frowning ---we have too much fun and are always smiling!)

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
