Saturday, March 27, 2010 there will be the 2nd annual Trooper Scott Burns Bass Tournament held on Caddo Lake. This Tournament is in honor of Trooper Burns who was shot and killed in the line of duty 2 years ago this April. The annual event was started by his cousin whom he grew up with, Keith Burns of Linden. Their family loved Caddo Lake and fished there often with their fathers and grandfathers. Trooper Burns had a passion for fishing on Caddo Lake as does his brothers and cousins. All proceeds from this tournament will go to the Marion Country Dive and Rescue Team, which Scott supported.
For information on this tournament or if you would like to make a donation in his memory, please call Keith Burns at 903-240-9151. Please support this cause, our law enforcement are so dedicated and so often risk their lives for our safety. GOD BLESS and WATCH OVER THEM ALL.
Last week Scott's cousin, Keith Burns caught the record breaking bass of all time from Caddo Lake, 16.17#. The Bass was taken to Tyler to be studied for 2 years and will be returned to him. He says he plans to go back to Scott's favorite fishing spot and release it.
