NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, MAY 6, 2010

Today is NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. A day set aside for the American people to pray for their nation and it's leaders.
As I searched the top news on the internet, sadly I did not see this in the "important" events of the day. I found an article at the bottom of the list from KTBS, Channel 3. It read:
Today, members of FUMC of Haughton, La. gathered at a 199 foot cross and had prayer for our nation and it's leaders.
As I searched the web, I found a statement that this may be the last day that this is observed. It all depends on a White House appeal of a ruling that the observance violates the ban on government-backed religion.
We as Christians need to stand up for what is right. Contact our elected officials and get something done about this. Today, our country is in deep financial and moral trouble. Our environment is being destroyed as progress continues.
Crosses ,prayer, anything to do with GOD is being removed from our schools and all government places.
We need to get our great country back to where our forefathers started it and back to looking to GOD, our Creator ,for guidance and help.
The first Day of Prayer was observed in 1775.
Please pray today that this day will continue to be observed in the years to come and let's get GOD back in HIS place in our great country.
2 Chronicles 7:14:
"If MY people, which are called in MY name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
