Bro. Richard's Sermon today: "The Reluctant Prophet"
Jeremiah 15:10 ..."Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention tyo the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me."
Jeremiah was a reluctant profhet in that he did not feel he could do things that GOD asked him to do. We today are often the same way. If GOD calls us to do something we often think we can't do it or what if I fail? God will not ask you to do things that you can not do without HIS help. With GOD, all things are possible.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
