Why is all the devestation happening not only in the United States but all around the world? Some say it's global warming, some say it just life. Many believe that GOD is trying to get everyone's attention and cause them to turn back to HIM.
It's no news that our country is turning away from GOD more and more everyday. Our government is removing all signs of HIM from public places, our children can't even pray in schools anymore. Do you believe GOD is punishing people for their behavior? Personally, I do not believe GOD punishes us because HE loves us so much, but I do believe HE sometimes has to shake us up a little to cause us to seek him for answers and strength. Some say it is just fulfillment of the Bible. If we never experienced hard times, how would we ever know HIS wonderful grace and strength.
Each day remember all those affected by the major storms, earthquakes and flooding around the world and pray for them. Please post a comment and let everyone know your feelings on these tragic events. We must all cling to GOD'S word and know that HE is with us no matter what happens, but we still feel pain and loss, but HE always knows what is best for us and comforts us.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
