Blessing for My Backpack

Each year Mims Chapel UMC and FUMC in Jefferson team together to gather school supplies and healthy snacks for children in Jefferson I.S.D.  These supplies help to fill the backpacks of those in need of help. Our children are our future. Thanks to all who have contributed and please inquire if you would like to help.

"BLESSING FOR MY BACKPACK"

Dear GOD: A new school year will begin soon. I ask you to bless me as I enter a new grade. Help me to study and prepare well for each assignment. Give me wisdom when I need it. Calm my anxieties about beginning something new. Give me peace when I feel nervous, focus when I'm distracted, energy when I feel tired. Help me to get up each morning rested and ready to face the day. As I see old friends and renew those friendships, help me to be open to new friendships with those who need them. Guide me in making good and wise choices. Remind me each day, Lord, that you are with me. And with you by my side, I can do all things well.

LORD, I thank you for my parents and grandparents who love me. Give them strength to get me to school, to drive me to after school activities, and to encourage me to do my very best. I ask you to bless them in a mighty and special way.

GOD, please bless my teachers. Help them to be patient with me and my classmates, Guide them as they teach us what we need to know. Help them to see when we need extra help to understand what is being taught.

Bless the school administrators and the school board. Help them to make the best decisions for the students and for my school.

GOD, each time I pick up my backpack, remind me of the prayer that is hidden in the bottom. May this blessing give me the sense of your awesome presence with me at all times. Thank you for loving me and for blessing me this year. Amen.
