Bro. Richard's Message Today: "The Shepherds and the Angels"
His Text: Luke 2-8-20:
As Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem, there were shepherds watching over their flocks and an angel appeared to them and the glory of the LORD shone all around them and they were afraid. The angel told them of good news that a SAVIOR, who is CHRIST the LORD was born that day. HE shall be a sign unto you and ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts praising GOD and saying "Glory to GOD in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men."
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising GOD for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
During this special time of the year and all throughout the year it is our duty to "spread the news" of the SAVIOR who was born in a stable and sent by GOD so that we might be forgiven our sins and have life everlasting. As you celebrate this special season, share the news of the birth of our LORD.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
