The Building Committee met Friday evening, planning and discussing plans for our vision for the future of MIMS CHAPEL.
We are happy that we are running out of room and need more Sunday School rooms, storage space, office space, and fellowship area. This means we are growing and there are so many things happening at our church.
The Committee voted to contact the District Board and see what our next plan should include to keep us on track. This is going to take time to plan and get the funds together. So far pledges look very good.
We would like to encourage those that have not pledged to do so. We want to do GOD'S work for the future. This is not only for us but for the future generations of this church.
If you have any questions, please contact one of the committee members. They are dedicated and working hard to plan and work for the best interest for our church, and have all information together for the next church conference.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
