Bro. Richard would like to give a special "Thank you" to our Youth for helping with the Holy Sacraments today and all the music. In the absence of Jackie and Marty, Landon did a great job helping with the piano and Kenneth with the sound system. GOD has truly blessed Mims Chapel with many talented people who are ready and willing to step in and do their part.
Red Hatters Trip: Ladies wil leave Mims Chapel at 11:00 on Friday, March 11th to go to the Daffodil Gardens in Gladewater. They will have lunch in Gladewater and then on to tour the gardens. This will be a drive-through and will not require much walking. You do not have to wear the Red Hatters hats and purple, just come comfortable. There is no admission charge for the tour.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
