As the Easter season approaches we need to stop and reflect on the true meaning of the season. There is a Legend of the Dogwood which reminds of the suffering that CHRIST went through so that we might be forgiven and live a joyful and abundant life. The legend says that the Dogwood flower, having two long petals and two short petals represents the cross. The indention in the center of each petal looks like a scar with rusty-red blood stains representing the nail scars on HIS hands and feet. The center of the flower represents the crown of thorns. It is only a legend, but we can certainly use this beautiful tree to remember the great sacrifice that was made for us. As you drive along and see these beautiful trees scattered in the woods, take a moment to remember and give thanks to GOD for his wonderful gift to us.
