Bro. Richard's Sermon today: "The MASTER Has Come---to Proclaim GOD'S Kingdom".
"And it came to pass in those days, that JESUS came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
And straightway coming up out of the water, HE saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like dove descending upon HIM:
And there cam a voice from Heaven saying, "THOU art MY beloved SON, in whom I AM well pleased."
And immediately the Spirit driveth HIM into the wilderness.
And HE was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts and the angels ministered unto him.
Now after that John was put in prison, JESUS came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of GOD.
And saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of GOD is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
