MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! Sat., March 26th @ 4:00 p.m. @ Mims Chapel!!!
It's a Hoedown Chuckwagon Hot Dog Supper!!! This is for everyone, all church families and friends. There is no charge. We will gather about 4:00 out behind the church and have a big campfire. There will be hot dogs with chili and all the trimmings. There will be musical entertainment and games, good food and great fellowship!! We will eat at 5:30 p.m.
There will be a covered wagon there for anyone who would like a ride. Wear your overalls, jeans, long skirts, boots, hats and bonnets and come on down. We promise it will be a great time for all!!
See ya'll there!! Please bring lawn chairs.

History of our Church
The first religious gathering place of the original pioneer families of the community is said to have been at the site of a sunken boulder, next to which the first crude log meeting house was constructed. Because of this boulder, the first structure was know as the "Old Rock Church".
About 1871, a larger one-room frame building replaced the log structure and the name was changed to Mims Chapel, after two brothers who were instrumental in procuring the six-acre tract of land. This white painted, one-room church remained in use until 1936, when a bad list to the structure necessitated its being torn down. The new church was built from the same material, except for necessary additions.
In January 1969, the old wooden building was torn down and replaced by a modern brick structure.
Mims Chapel maintains its strong historical background , while striving ever-forward to help spread God's glory and kingdom. Praise God in the highest! May Mims Chapel forever be the "Old Rock Church".
