The Gospel of John 20:7 reads:
"And the napkin, that was about HIS head, not lying with the linen clothing, but wrapped together in a place by itself."
Why did JESUS fold the napkin that covered HIS face?
In Hebrew tradition servants did not near the table of their master until he was finished with his meal. Once he finished, he wiped his mouth and beard, wadded up his napkin and placed it on the table. This meant "I am finished", a sign to the servant that they could clear the table and all Jewish boys knew this. On the Sunday morning when Mary Magdalene went to the tomb, she discovered the stone rolled away and the body of JESUS was gone. She ran and found Simon Peter and told him what she had seen. As they went into the tomb they found the burial linens lying on the stone and the napkin folded neatly and set aside.
What did this mean?
The neatly folded napkin meant that "I am not finished, I am coming back."
AND SO HE SHALL!
